About the data
CedarBid publishes every Department of Veterans Affairs contract classified under NAICS 238220 (plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors) with activity since October 1, 2018. Data is refreshed weekly from USAspending.gov, the federal government's official spending site. Current data is as of Oct 19, 2026.
Where the data comes from
All contract facts come from USAspending.gov, which publishes federal award data reported by agencies. Every contract on this site links to its official USAspending record so you can confirm the details.
What the terms mean
- Obligated: dollars the VA has committed to the contract so far. It is not always the full value if options are exercised later.
- Ends: the contract's current period of performance end date.
- Recurring service contract: maintenance, inspection or testing work that runs most of a year or more, or is described as preventive maintenance, base plus options, or annual service. These are usually solicited again when they end. We identify them with automated rules that were about 93% accurate in hand-checked samples.
- Bids: the number of offers the VA reported receiving. A single bid can reflect an emergency or sole-source purchase.
- Location: the place of performance city reported for the contract. VA locations are grouped by city.
Limits
- Agencies sometimes report late or correct records; the official record is always the authority.
- Classification of contracts is automated and can be wrong for individual contracts.
- This site does not show open solicitations or predict when a contract will be re-solicited; an ending contract may be extended, combined with other work or not renewed.
Independence
CedarBid is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the General Services Administration, or any other government agency. Names of agencies and systems are used only to describe the public data shown.
Corrections
Records come from agency reports on USAspending.gov. If a record about your company is wrong at the source, the reporting agency can correct it, and our pages update on the next weekly refresh. To report a mistake in our own classifications, such as a one-time repair labeled as a recurring service, email [email protected] with the contract number. Every contract page has a link that fills it in for you.
Who this is for
Small trade contractors, especially veteran-owned firms, who want to find VA facility work, understand who holds it, and prepare to bid. CedarBid helps prepare bid drafts; contractors review, price and submit their own bids.
